The Fault in Our Stars Theme and Golden Lines
The theme of this book is love, struggle, and remembering the important things in life. The first golden line we found to support his theme is, "But my life bought them a minute, and that's not nothing." This quote supports this because, this shows that one of the most important things in life is to care for others more then yourself. Another quote is, " Oh i wouldn't mind. It would be privilege to get my heart broken by you." This shows that Gus truly loves Hazel. Another quote is, "I'm a roller coaster that only goes up." This quote shows that people struggle all the time, and if your struggling you should live your life to the fullest everyday. Another quote is, "Are you ready sweetie? Then I told her that I was ready" this shows that she is accepting that she has cancer, and needs to live everyday like it is her last. The last quote we found was, "They took a few steps toward the car, then Gus flipped open the egg carton and handed Isaac an egg." This supports the theme because he is helping out Isaac get back at Monica rather than caring for himself and his illness.
